Tioga County

Welcome!
The Grand Dame of Route 6!

Follow Route 6 to a gorgeous getaway with ample room to explore, relax and leave the working world behind. A grand place for a quaint country vacation! There are over 150,000 acres in Tioga State Forest, 21,000 acres of State Game Lands, 300 miles of streams, 150 miles of trails and a 20,000-year-old Canyon that runs for 50 miles. There's more to explore than the average vacation can hold. Which is why once you visit, we'll expect you back again.

Isn't That Grand?

Pennsylvania's spectacular Grand Canyon, a Registered National Natural Landmark since 1935, is nearly 50 miles long covering some 300,000 acres. It reaches depths of 1,450 feet. You can reach it from either Route 6 or Route 660.

Sorry, no blimp.

Historic Mansfield University was the site of the first lighted night football game back in 1892. This beautiful campus in a serene, rustic setting was built in 1857.

Jump in the Lakes!

Tioga-Hammond and Cowanesque Lakes are two of the largest in the country. Four seasons of recreation and wildlife management areas, spectacular scenery and an osprey habitat. There are five other lakes, too!
