History and Heritage:
You can go anywhere and learn about its history. But, chances are you won't find an area with more historic firsts than that of Pennsylvania Route 6. The Northeast Mountains Region saw the first underground mine. The first steam locomotive took its maiden voyage in the Pocono Mountains RegionPennsylvania's Great Lakes Region had the first lighthouse on the Lakes. The first billion-dollar oil field was found in the Pennsylvania Wilds Region.  Officially known as the PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor, the highway connects the stories of how America grew industrially, socially, and geographically.

Nature and Outdoors:
Get back to nature on Pennsylvania Route 6. The possibilities for outdoor fun and adventure are endless! From fishing and boating, to bird watching, star watching and even hot air balloon watching, you'll find it all right here. Relax on the sandy beaches at Pymatuning State Park. Canoe through smooth waters of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in the Pocono Mountains Region. Climb series of steps to a beautiful lookout at the Rimrock Overlook in the Pennsylvania Wilds Region. Or enjoy 10 miles of hiking at Mt. Pisgah State Park in the Northeast Mountains Region. This vacation let the kids decide! There is so much for your child to do and see on Pennsylvania Route 6. Is summer heat putting a damper on your trip?
