The Great Gatsby
February 9, 2018 - February 18, 2018

F. Scott Fitzgerald's definitive tale of the doomed love of Jay Gatsby for Daisy Buchanan and the failure of the American Dream, is brought to life on Meadville Community Theatre's stage in the only official stage adaptation by Simon Levy, authorized by the Fitzgerald Estate. Join MCT on an inviting trip into the Jazz age of the 1920's and immerse yourself in the lives of the rich and beautiful, sometimes tragically flawed, inhabitants of Long Island. Seen through the eyes of everyman visitor Nick Carraway, the expansive world of Gatsby and his eternal love Daisy is translated into a ypnotically intimate experience in the stage version. This show is perfect for students who have just read the novel, those who remember the movies, and lovers of the novel from all generations. And for those who have no experience with Gatsby and the lot of them, this show stands alone as a beautiful, lyrical show for all to enjoy. "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." The Great Gatsby is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30PM and Sunday at 2:00PM.
